Mystery Plays Its Turn

I lay matted on my dark green bed, my long, messy, brown hair sprouted in all places. I look to the left. “Huh,” I whisper curiously, “a blue star. That looks beautiful.” I stare at the star and mysteriously fall asleep. My dream... It was wonderful... I was in the night sky and multi-colored stars encompassed me. They greeted me as little girls with sunshiny faces and rosy dresses. Then I woke up. To the sound of my name. “David, David, David,” it said darkly, “come here, come here, come here” “Who's there?” I exclaimed in a panic. “DAVID!” the voice yelled. “Go to your closet!” Stumbling off of my bed, I threw my hand on the door and thrust it open. Inside was a little girl with blue hair thrusted into pigtails. 'The same girl from my dream,' I thought. “I am going to die soon,” she said quickly. “Promise me you won't forget me. Ever.” I promised her. 'But who really is this girl?' I thought. “Goodbye, David,” she said crying. “I love you.” At that, she went to my window and faded. After she went away, a blue star twinkled into sight. It was her. After that, I slept a good night's rest. I woke up to the sound of my phone. Out came the harsh voice of my girlfreind, Amily. “Come to my house, now. Please,” she pleaded harshly. I didn't waste any time. In the car, the girl's words rung in my ear. “I am going to die soon,” she had said. As soon as I had reached Amily's house, I sprinted inside. I saw Amily on the floor. Dead. “How...? Why...?” I asked her body, stroking her blue hair. Then I understood. That little girl I met last night was Amily. She was Amily, just younger. I hugged Amily's body and whispered to her, “I love you, Amily. And I'll never forget you. That's a promise.” My eyes were spilling out tears. One month later, I was in bed thinking all about Amily. A bright light caught my eye. Carefully, I strolled to my window, and threw it open. I found a blue star. I smiled and shouted, “I love you Amily!” The star just shone brighter.
